“First time I met Tone was…can I call him Tone? Thanks. First time I met Tone…should you ask him first really, before I start?…Okay, first time I met Tone I would say was…I took my Dad, my Stepmother and my boyfriend to see him at Royal Albert Hall, and we went both nights.”

I swear Amy Winehouse was the only popular female singer who sang with fucking emotion.

Like, all these songs in the charts now that claim to be about break ups/love, like Katy Perry - Part Of Me/Rihanna - We Found Love, they don’t sing it with the same kind of emotion, it’s all manufactured rubbish. They’re not in it for the right reasons, it’s like one big popularity contest for the majority of females in the charts. I mean all the fucking “short film” music videos that came out at once (gaga - marry the night, rihanna - we found love, katy perry - one that got away) there’s no individuality or emotion there, and it’s quite sad really. Especially as the ones who do write meaningful songs/show any emotion are the ones that go unnoticed.

Amy basically ripped her heart out and gave it to us through her songs, that’s why so many people could and can relate to them. Even her covers she sang with such emotion that just shows us how much the song meant to her. And I completely disagree with everyone who states that Adele is the new Amy Winehouse because she’s just not.

I don’t even know why this bothers me so much.

But anyone who thinks that Part Of Me by Katy Perry is a more “full of emotion” break up song than Love Is A Losing Game is just fucking stupid.

I have far too many views about the music industry, christ.
